Building Balinese Human Resources BKS LPD Bali Province Provides College Scholarships in Collaboration with ITB STIKOM Bali

LPD throughout Bali, through the BKS LPD of Bali Province followed up by the BKS LPD of the Regency/City throughout Bali and then continued by the BKS LPD of the Sub-district throughout Bali has received a mandate from ITB STIKOM Bali to provide scholarships for Balinese people who will continue their higher education studies at ITB STIKOM Bali.

Every prospective student who is recommended in writing by the Head of LPD will automatically receive a scholarship of 25% of the Tuition Fee (UKT) for 8 semesters for S1 and 6 semesters for D3 in the acceptance of New Students in 2025/26, while for the S2 scholarship, 10% of the SPP is given for 3 semesters.

According to the Head of BKS LPD of Bali Province Drs. I Nyoman Cendekiawan, M.Sc., who was met by reporters at a Focus Group Discussion event at ITB STIKOM Bali Denpasar, said that the provision of the scholarship was a form of implementation of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) between BKS LPD and ITB STIKOM Bali last year. Several other collaborations have been implemented, including digital training for LPD administrators and a financing scheme for ITB STIKOM Bali students or alumni who want to do internships or work abroad.

Furthermore, Nyoman Cendekiawan added that the requirements to obtain the scholarship are that in addition to obtaining a written recommendation from the Head of LPD, the prospective student or their parent/guardian must be a customer of the nearest LPD where the person concerned is domiciled or lives, so that it is hoped that the sons/daughters of LPD customers who are the successors of the nation can be educated at least Diploma 3 which can be a provision for the child to face his/her future.

In the same event, the Chancellor of ITB STIKOM Bali Dr. Dadang Hermawan stated that the provision of the scholarship had received approval from the Management of the Widya Dharma Shanti Denpasar Foundation with the aim of increasing the number of Balinese youth who receive higher education. Currently, the APK (Crude Participation Rate) of Dikti in Bali is almost the same as the national APK Dikti, which is around 36%, meaning that the number of residents aged between 18 and 24 years who are in college is only 36%, whereas the high APK level of Dikti is directly proportional to the level of prosperity or welfare of the community. Furthermore, Dadang stated that the amount of the scholarship can be increased selectively to 50%, 75% or even full according to the interests, talents, abilities and desires of the prospective students obtained from the results of interviews conducted by the ITB STIKOM Bali Team. Dadang hopes that this opportunity can be utilized by the Balinese people who want to deepen and improve their insight into digitalization in college.
