DENPASAR – ITB STIKOM Bali held the Bali Table Tennis League for the first time, the ITB STIKOM Bali Rector Cup on April 10-13, 2025. The table tennis tournament was attended by around 16 clubs in Bali with 300 male/female team participants. The championship included the U12, U14, U16 and U19 male/female team competition categories.
ITB STIKOM Bali Rector Dr. Dadang Hermawan said that the league that was held was a means of selecting outstanding table tennis players in Bali. In addition, it is also a means for young table tennis players in Bali to hone their mentality in matches.
“Children should get used to participating in matches like this so that their mentality is honed, and we also want to find potential table tennis athletes so that they can participate in national championships,” said Dadang Hermawan, Sunday, April 13, 2025.
In the match held in the ITB STIKOM Bali campus hall, the supporters who attended were overflowing. They are not only from the club but also from families who watch the match.
“The children must be accompanied by their parents, accompanied by their supporters, so you can see for yourself that it is quite crowded,” said Dadang.
The match was to compete for the rotating trophy of the Rector of ITB STIKOM Bali. So, said Dadang, next year there will be another similar match. In fact, according to him, it will be upgraded to a national level tournament.
The Chairman of the Provincial Management of the All Indonesia Table Tennis Association (PTMSI) Commissioner General Pol. Prof. Dr. Petrus R. Golose expressed his appreciation for the organization of the Bali Table Tennis League Rector Cup ITB STIKOM Bali.
“I appreciate the organization of the Bali Table Tennis League Rector Cup ITB STIKOM Bali. This championship is to provide motivation and opportunities for potential table tennis athletes in Bali,” said the former Bali Police Chief in his statement.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Committee Made Siswandi Pradnyana said that the table tennis league was a collaboration between ITB STIKOM Bali, SMK TI Bali Global Denpasar, the Management of PTMSI Bali Province and PTMSI Denpasar.
“This league is also part of the coaching and development to produce outstanding table tennis players from Bali,” said the man who is usually called Andi.
